I haven’t tracked my ovulation in over 8 months as we have been “forgetting” about it but this month we’ve decided to get back on the fertility wagon. My app which tracks my cycles said I would be ovulating today and I had forgotten to buy an ovulation kit this week but found one lonesome one lying around at home so did it this morning and it was positive. Delighted. 1/1 check!
Well hello there again!
It’s been 8 months since I last posted or even paid to much attention to our fertility struggle. It has been fab to have a break from it all. No treatments, no medication, not even a measley ovulation test. Nada. Zilch. Zero.
As great as it’s been to live life and not worry about having a baby, we unfortunately can’t forget about it forever.
The theory of ‘just forget about it and it’ll happen’ is total BS and I’m glad to be able to tell every person from here on with offers up that advise that it’s been tried and tested and its bollocks.
Anyhoo, we have decided to go to a new Fertility Specialist and was thinking about going to Dr Hansen who is next door to our current Dr and they share an embryologist which is great cause we still have 4 ice babies. BUT a friend who has also previously struggled persuaded us to book an app with Vitalab in Johannesburg which is a 6hr drive away. They are a lot more expensive but hopefully you get what you pay for. Our first consultation is scheduled for 9 Feb.
We really don’t have money for any treatments at the moment as my business is battling and my husband is unemployed so we are really trusting that we will fall pregnant naturally. So this month we are going to try Pre-seed. A friend told us about it and after trying for 9 months, they fall pregnant first month using it. It’s basically a lubricant that protects the sperm so it survives a lot longer.
This week is ovulation (according to my app) so fingers crossed the Pre-seed works!
