So I haven’t posted in 2.5 years and WOW how our lives have changed. Ill quickly get you in the loop as to where we are now with our family.
After our 6th round of IVF failed in 2016 we decided to draw a line in the sand and to move on from trying to have biological children. I felt God prompting me that we were searching in all the wrong places to start our family and to trust in Him to bring our children into our lives.
Fast forward 6 months to June 2016, we enrolled with a private social worker to start the Adoption screening process. This process took 2.5 months and we were told not to get our hopes up of being matched with a baby soon as it could take months if not years. Well God knew this mama couldnt wait any longer for her first born and 2 weeks later we got the call to say we had been matched with a beautiful 6 month old baby girl. 3 days later we flew to East London to bring her home.
Summer was the absolute apple of eye our eye and brought endless joy and happiness into our lives. She filled our home with infectious giggles and poured love into our broken hearts. She truly is a perfect gift from above and worth every single day we waited for her.
Summer turned 2 at the beginning of this year and we decided it was time to add a baby boy to our family. We reached out to a new social worker agency in Cape Town, the delays to register adoptions in Durban are endless (more on that in another post), so we decided to try and be matched with a baby in Cape Town. We knew how lucky we were to be matched so quickly with Summer so understood that we would need to be patient this time around. I contacted the agency on 19 April and we flew to Cape Town on 19 May to bring our baby boy home. God has been so faithful and gracious in his timing to bring us all together. Our gorgeous baby boy is the perfect piece of our puzzle and our special family is now complete.
